Enterprises of three capital districts were warned about the installation of dust and gas cleaning equipment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In connection with the increase in air pollution in Chilanzar, Sergeli and Yangikhayot districts of Tashkent, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change conducted environmental monitoring of the activities of enterprises that affect the environment.

During the monitoring of 70 enterprises of the Chilanzar district belonging to categories I and II of environmental impact, including producers of concrete, flour products, ceramic tiles, textile and gas and other products, warning letters were sent regarding the installation of dust and gas cleaning equipment. 68 enterprises of the Sergeli district, belonging to environmental impact categories I and II, were also warned about the installation of dust and gas cleaning equipment.

In addition, 22 organizations of environmental impact categories I and II located in Yangikhayot district were also issued warning letters about the installation of dust and gas cleaning equipment.

In accordance with Article 9 of the Law “On Nature Conservation,” 42 enterprises in the capital, as of 12 January 2024, submitted an action plan. Of these, 75 measures to protect atmospheric air have been identified.

According to the information provided, 1,517 environmental impact assessment (EIS) projects will be implemented (last year - 1,343), 221 draft environmental impact statements (EPS) (last year - 206), 371 air emission control projects (EEC) ) (375 last year), 651 projects to control the generation and disposal of waste (WDO) (527 last year), 3 projects to regulate wastewater (WW) discharged into open water bodies (9 compared to the previous year).

Of the project documents reviewed, 2,392 projects received a positive conclusion, 321 were returned for revision, and 50 received a negative conclusion. After eliminating these shortcomings, 189 objects received a positive conclusion from the environmental assessment.

In 2022, environmental conclusions were given for 2,460 documents, and in 2023 this figure increased by 303. In particular, enterprises in Chilanzar, Yangikhayot and Sergeli districts were examined, and therefore mandatory instructions were given for the development of environmental regulations.
