Energy Institute to be established in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following the president’s instructions, Uzbekistan will establish an Energy Institute. This was announced on 28 January by the Minister of Energy, his deputy, and the Director of the Agency for the Development and Regulation of the Electricity Market after a meeting with the president.

The head of state tasked officials with preparing high-class engineers in the field of energy. While Uzbekistan already has young specialists whose skills can compete on the international stage, there is still a significant shortage of professionals in this sector.

To address this issue, Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave specific instructions, including the creation of a specialized higher educational institution — the Energy Institute.

The university will train qualified specialists and develop internship and professional development programs abroad.

These measures are aimed at expanding the professional potential of Uzbekistan’s specialists and accelerating the implementation of modern technologies in the energy sector.

The Energy Institute will have branches in different regions, though their exact locations have not been disclosed. The institution will prepare specialists in various fields, including energy financing, with a focus on modern educational approaches.

The exact opening date of the Energy Institute has not been specified yet.
