Emphasis on further support for the activities of children’s health camps

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law “On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts aimed at further supporting the activities of children’s health camps” was considered in the first reading.

In our country, significant work is being carried out aimed at organizing children’s recreation, their health improvement and full-fledged free time. In particular, educating young people as a comprehensively developed generation and organizing their free time with benefit has become one of the highest priority areas of state policy.

Over the past period, certain measures have been taken to increase the number of children enrolled in camps in the off-season, improve the quality of services provided to them, the image of the camps, create additional opportunities for business entities operating in the field of tourism and the development of the domestic tourism environment.

At the same time, to increase the number of children attending children’s health camps and improve the quality of services provided to them, there is a need to take all necessary measures to support them and ensure their financial sustainability.

The proposed bill stipulates the exemption of recreational facilities (rest homes and recreation areas) created on the basis of children’s health camps in the trade union system, exemption for a certain period from mandatory certification and income tax, received by them from the provision of services in this direction.

The adoption of this bill will improve the conditions for the effective year-round use of children’s health camps in the trade union system and ensuring their financial sustainability, increasing the efficiency of work on the health and mental development of children, as well as stabilizing prices for vouchers.

During the discussions, deputies expressed their opinions and proposals on the bill. A number of questions were also raised regarding some of the draft standards. The initiators of the law gave detailed explanations on each issue.

After heated discussions and questions and answers, the bill was adopted by deputies.
