Emergency headquarters established in Tashkent following gas explosion in residential building
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An emergency headquarters has been established in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district in response to the incident, the Tashkent city administration reported.
According to city officials, the explosion affected not only individual apartments but also neighboring residential units within the multi-story building.
The Tashkent and Mirzo-Ulugbek district administrations have arranged temporary accommodation for affected residents and their families in a hotel, providing them with hot meals.
Specialized services continue to assess the damage and work on mitigating the consequences of the explosion.
The blast occurred at approximately 15:23 in the Gulsanam neighborhood, located in the 4th quarter of Karasu Street, Mirzo-Ulugbek district.
Official reports confirm that six people were evacuated during the rescue operation. Several individuals were injured, including two children—one of whom tragically died en route to the hospital, while the other remains under medical supervision.
