Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to improve the efficiency of the system for transporting passengers by tram and trolleybus” was adopted, Norma reports.

To improve the quality of service for tram and trolleybus passengers in Samarkand and Khorezm regions, the following priorities have been identified:

modernization of public transport infrastructure and gradual renewal of the traffic structure;

improvement of modern urban public transport management systems based on advanced foreign experience;

increasing the share of the “green transport” system in the republic, the number of efficient and environmentally friendly modes of transport;

implementation of a digital process management system;

cooperation with leading foreign educational and scientific organizations to improve the skills and experience of employees;

introduction of a system for training professional personnel with modern knowledge.

From 1 January 2024, an automated ticket payment system for trams and trolleybuses will be introduced in Samarkand and Khorezm regions.

The document also approved the “Road Map” for improving and developing the efficiency of public electric transport.
