Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese company EVERBRIGHT ENVIRONMENT LIMITED will begin producing electricity from waste in Namangan region.
Negotiations on this matter were held in July of this year during a visit by a delegation led by the Governor of the Namangan region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, to the People’s Republic of China.
On 19 October 2024, representatives of the large Chinese company EVERBRIGHT ENVIRONMENT LIMITED arrived in the Namangan region to implement this project.
The delegation was received by the Governor of the Namangan region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov.
During the visit, the project for electricity production through waste processing was discussed, which will take place on a 10-hectare site located in the Chust district of the Namangan region.
The project will be implemented in the Zarafshan Free Economic Zone and involves direct foreign investments amounting to US$150 million. The launch of the project will create 400 new jobs.
The project will be executed in phases: the first phase is planned to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2025, while the second phase is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026.
In 2024, it is planned to allocate investments totaling US$25 million for project development.
After meeting with the Governor of the Namangan region, the delegation is currently familiarizing themselves with the territory.
