Electricity production in Uzbekistan declines by 3.42% — statistics data
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Electricity generation in Uzbekistan decreased in January–February 2025, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.
In the first two months of the year, the country produced 14.06 billion kWh of electricity, reflecting a 3.42% decline compared to the same period last year.
Large enterprises generated 11.15 billion kWh during the reporting period, a 17.33% drop from January–February 2024. Meanwhile, small businesses increased their output significantly, producing 2.91 billion kWh, up from 1.06 billion kWh a year earlier—an increase of 2.72 times.
Thermal energy production also declined. During the reporting period, enterprises generated 5.64 million Gcal, marking a 5.09% decrease compared to the same period of last year.
