Electricity power for households to be limited if necessary

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 November, electricity capacity for households will be limited if necessary “for the purpose of rational use” in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Regional Electric Networks company.

Corresponding amendments were made to the Rules for the Use of Electricity.

A power limit of 10−15 kW can be set by an automated system for monitoring and accounting for electrical energy (ASKUE), depending on the minimum power of the devices required for the needs of consumers and the region.

The Regional Electric Networks company noted that restrictions will be introduced as necessary in regions with outdated and energy-consuming power grids and transformer points.

The company stressed that these restrictions will be applied for a certain period only in situations such as adverse weather conditions, in order to prevent excessive load on the power grid.
