Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Eldiyor Toshmatov was appointed as the permanent representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

According to information from the Dunyo news agency, Toshmatov has already arrived in Geneva and has begun to carry out his duties.

Before his appointment in Geneva, Eldiyor Toshmatov served as the head of the Secretariat of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

In his new position, he replaced Ulugbek Lapasov, who in August 2023 started to work as head of the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan to the UN in New York.
