Eight projects implemented at Angren special zone
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Eight projects with total cost of US$185.8 million are implemented at the territory of Angren special industrial zone in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan.

The projects are implemented in such sectors as food, oil and gas, metallurgy and electronics.

Largest project of them is construction of new sugar plant. The cost of the project is US$108.5 million. The capacity of the plant is 1,000 tonnes of sugar a day.

Uzbeknefteproduct in cooperation with Prista Oil Holding EAD (Bulgaria) is planning to create capacities on regeneration of motor oil by the end of 2013. The project cost is US$15 million. The plant will produce motor oils from used oils. The capacity will produce 43,000 tonnes of oil a year.

An Uzbek-Korean venture Uz-Shindong Silicon will construct capacities on production of silicon. The capacity of the venture is 5,000 tonnes of silicon a year. The project cost is US$10 million.

Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean Gong Seok on construction of plants on production of electronics and construction materials.

Currently, some 22 projects in such areas as production of automobile spare parts, domestic chemicals, medicaments, leather products and others are under development.

Angren special industrial zone was created on 13 April 2012 in line with the presidential decree in Tashkent region. The zone will function for 30 years.

During operation of the special industrial zone, special tax regime and customs preferences will be applied in its territory. Administrative council of SIZ Angren will provide status of participant of the special industrial zone.
