Eid prayers to be held in a total of 2,076 mosques

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- This year, Eid prayers will be held in a total of 2076 mosques in Uzbekistan, said the Head of the Information Service of the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Muzifa Sultonova.

According to her, to ensure public order and the safety of citizens in mosques where prayers are held, 12,374 employees of internal affairs bodies, 2,771 people of the National Guard and 2,622 employees and military personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are involved.

They were provided with 7,352 communications equipment, 2,433 vehicles, 4,845 metal detectors and 372 sniffer dogs. All traffic police centers in Uzbekistan have been transferred to an enhanced operating mode.

To ensure security, concrete or metal fences have been installed at the entrances to mosques, and separate parking lots have been organized 150 meters from the mosques.

More than a thousand law enforcement officers and 100 canine officers are deployed to maintain public order and security at more than 100 facilities, such as markets, large shopping and entertainment complexes and other crowded places. In addition, service dogs are used.

All video surveillance cameras installed in the complexes are integrated into the situation centers of the internal affairs bodies and are subject to round-the-clock surveillance.
