Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mansurbek Kilichev met with the head of the Central Department for WTO Affairs of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Egypt Iman Refaat Nasr, Dunyo news agency reported.

The main attention at the meeting was paid to the issue of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization.

Iman Refaat Nasr expressed deep respect for the centuries-old heritage of Uzbekistan and the history of Egyptian-Uzbek relations, built on long-standing ties of friendship and lasting trust. She also expressed satisfaction with the mutual support of initiatives within international organizations and full support for Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO.

The parties emphasized their confidence that Uzbekistan’s membership in the organization will contribute to increasing mutual trade and establishing important economic partnerships in both regions.

The parties also agreed that the visit of the leader of Uzbekistan to Egypt in February 2023 raised bilateral relations to a new level and laid the foundation for the development of mutually beneficial projects, moving on to their practical implementation.

It should be noted that following the results of high-level negotiations and a business forum held during the visit, the parties agreed on promising investment projects, which are currently being actively implemented.
