EGL-NUR to start production of energy saving LED lamps
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- EGL-NUR, an Uzbek-South Korean joint venture, will launch production of modern energy saving LAD lamps of industrial and consumer use.

EGL-NUR has been founded by South Korea’s EG Lightings Co. Ltd and Uzbekistan’s Novo-Angren thermal power station. Share of the Korean side in the venture is 51% and the Uzbek side – 49%.

The project cost is US$1 million. EG Lightings Co. Ltd will invest US$510,000 to the project and Novo-Angren thermal power station – US$490,000.

New enterprise will be created at Angren special industrial zone. The enterprise will start production of LED lamps in August 2013.

In the first stage, the joint venture will organize assembly of LED lamps from spare parts, imported from South Korea. The enterprise, in the first stage, will produce LED street lamps. The capacity of the venture is 2,000 units ofstreet lamps a month.

In the second stage, the enterprise is planning to localize production. The company reached agreement with local companies on supply of components for localization of goods.

In the future, the joint venture will launch production of new goods in cooperation with Uzkimyosanoat state joint stock company, Uzavtosanoat joint stock company and Uzeltekhsanoat Association.

In particular, the enterprise will start production of LED lights for automobiles, houses and offices, advertisement, etc.
