Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 October 2022, the editor and writer of the Japanese travel publication Globe-Trotter Travel Guidebook Shimpi Ito arrived in Uzbekistan at the invitation to widely promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan in Japan and increase the flow of Japanese tourists.
Globe-Trotter Travel Guide, founded in 1969, is Japan’s leading travel publisher. Travel magazines, newspapers, guidebooks for foreign countries are published annually in Japanese. The circulation of this guide is an average of 8 million copies per year. The Japanese publishing house also publishes a guide for each country in the Plat category.
It is worth noting that the Uzbekistan travel guide was published by Globe-Trotter Travel Guidebook in 2019 with a circulation of 30,000 copies in Japanese. Since the guidebooks were the most purchased among Japanese tourists visiting Uzbekistan, today it is planned to republish their special edition in a new edition.
In addition, Ito said that the purpose of publishing this guide is that Japan will resume overseas travel from this year. Since the guide was ranked among the best-selling travel guides in 2019, most Japanese tourists visiting Central Asia go to Uzbekistan, and direct charter flights from major Japanese cities to Uzbekistan are planned from March 2023.
The new version of the guide is scheduled to be released in February-March 2023, and it will be 16 pages longer than the previous version, i.e. 144 pages
