Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ecological Party of Uzbekistan has nominated its candidate for the presidential elections in the country.

On 11 May, an extraordinary plenum of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan was held. At the plenum, it was decided to nominate Abdushukur Khamzaev, chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Council of the party, as a candidate for the presidency of Uzbekistan in early elections.

Earlier, early elections of the President of Uzbekistan were announced last week. Elections will take place on 9 July  2023.

Five parties are registered in Uzbekistan, each of which must nominate its own candidate for the post of head of state.
