Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov held online talks with Hussein Ozhan, the Director for Central Asia at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and Andi Aratinasilar, the head of the EBRD’s office in Tashkent, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the meeting, it was noted that the EBRD highly appreciates the extensive reforms being carried out across all sectors in New Uzbekistan and fully supports them.

The meeting focused on further expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EBRD, including financing micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) in the country and further developing women’s and youth entrepreneurship.

As a result of the talks, agreements were reached to advance women’s and youth entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan through the EBRD’s "Women in Business" and "Youth in Business" programs, as well as to continue cooperation in other areas.

It is worth noting that the EBRD, in collaboration with Uzbekistan, has implemented 170 projects, 58% of which are in the private sector.
