Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 August 2025, at 08:58 local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 occurred in Uzbekistan. The information was provided by the Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The epicenter was located in the Markhamat district of Andijan region at a depth of 15 km (coordinates: 40.55° N, 72.26° E). The intensity at the epicenter reached 4 on the MSK scale.

According to seismologists, tremors were felt in several regions:

Andijan region — 3 points (29 km from the epicenter)

Fergana region — 2–3 points (45 km)

Namangan region — 2 points (72 km)

The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent was 268 km to the southeast.

No reports of casualties or damage have been received.
