Each settlement to be able to connect to the Internet at a speed of at least 10 Mbit/s

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the Decree “On approval of the strategy“ Digital Uzbekistan - 2030 ”and measures for its effective implementation”, from 1 November 2020, one of the current deputy heads of all ministries and departments, local executive authorities is entrusted with the powers of the Deputy Head for Digitalization (Chief Digital Officer).

From 1 January 2021:

- a system of compensation for up to 50 percent of citizens’ expenses for obtaining international IT-certificates in system administration, information security and other popular areas is being introduced;

- when issuing an identification ID-card to an individual, his personal account is formed as an experiment to establish electronic relationships with government agencies and organizations;

- a publicly available electronic platform for domestic software products and IT services is being created.

From 1 July 2021, the Open Data Portal will post information on public procurement, registration of patents, medicines and other publicly available statistical information online.

Until 1 September 2021, in each district and city, on the basis of existing infrastructure facilities, centers will be opened to train the general population, especially youth and women, in digital technologies.

Until 1 January  2022, all popular tourist destinations will be provided with high-speed Internet.

Until the end of 2022, each settlement of the country will be provided with the ability to connect to the Internet with a data transfer rate of at least 10 Mbps.

By the end of 2023, over 200 specialized schools with in-depth study of computer science and information technology will be gradually created on the basis of existing educational institutions in all districts and cities.
