Dushanbe hosts CIS Prime Ministers’ Summit
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A session of the Council of the heads of the governments of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independence States (CIS) was held in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) on 30 October 2015, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee said.

A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Deputy Prime Minister Adham Ikramov attended the CIS Prime Ministers’ Summit.

The summit considered wide range issues of integrational cooperation within the Commonwealth.

In particular, the CIS officials considered realization of the agreement on free trade zone and adopted decision on implementation of the third stage (2016-2020) of the Strategy of economic development of the CIS.

They also approved events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the CIS and events for 2016-2017 within implementation of the international youth cooperation strategy of the CIS till 2020, etc.

The PMs clarified a list of pilot inter-governmental innovation projects of the Intergovernmental programme of innovative cooperation of the CIS till 2020.

At the event, the participants approved main directions of further developing medical-social aid and improving life quality of war veterans and members of their families and the complex measures on development and stimulation of use of natural gas as motor fuel for transport means in the CIS till 2020.

The CIS officials also signed an agreement on conditions of conducting inter-operator payments at rendering services of international electrical communication in the CIS states and other documents.

The Council also discussed on activities of some CIS bodies such as Coordination council of the heads of the tax bodies of the CIS, Intergovernmental Council on cooperation in veterinary, Intergovernmental Council on cooperation in construction and others.

The Council considered some issues of organizational, legal and budget-financial issues. Next session of the Council will be held in Kyrgyzstan in May 2016.
