Uzbekistan24/05/2008Duma ratifies treaty on friendship & cooperation with SCO countries
The document was signed at the SCO summit in Bishkek on 16 August 2007. Taking part in the organisation are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The agreement should promote further SCO consolidation as an efficient mechanism aimed at the development of strategic partnership between the organisation’s member countries on the basis of international law and regulations and mutual respect to the national experience and national identities.
The document underlines the common intention to give a new quality and dynamics to the multifaceted interaction in the SCO format in the key spheres, including strengthening of peace, security and stability, enhancement of economic cooperation and deepening of contacts in culture, education, healthcare and science.
