Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A tragic road accident occurred in Bakhmal district of Jizzakh region, resulting in the death of two young girls. This was reported by the press service of the regional traffic police.

The incident took place on 18 November around 7:30 PM on the 29th kilometer of the 4R-41 highway. According to reports, 33-year-old driver A. O. of a Cobalt vehicle hit two sisters, 13-year-old I. M. and 4-year-old I. K., who were crossing the road.

The girls were crossing the road at an unregulated spot. Unfortunately, they both died at the scene from the injuries sustained in the accident.

A criminal case has been initiated under part 3, article 266 (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation) and part 3, article 117 (leaving a person in danger) of the Criminal Code. The suspect has been detained, and an investigation is underway.
