Draft law on e-government discussed in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Committee on information and communication technologies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry for development of information technologies and communication held a conference “Draft law of Uzbekistan “On electronic government”: offers of expert community” on 13 November 2015.

The event is aimed at discussing the draft law “On electronic government”, which is currently considered at the lower house of the Uzbek parliament, collect proposals and recommendation on its optimization and improvement, the press service of the Ministry for development of information technologies and communication said.

MPs, heads and specialists of executive body, experts of information sphere, representatives of businesses and NGOs participated in the conference.

At the event, the participants considered norms of the draft law and gave their recommendation and proposals on improving it based on their experience.

In particular, the experts offered to improve mechanism of regulation of electronic requests within the e-government system, ensuring one-stop-shop principle and access of individuals and legal entities to electronic state services, etc.

The participants also studied legal framework for the e-government in such countries as the USA, South Korea, Germany, Finland, Austria, etc.

It was noted that the law will improve efficiency of the state bodies and quality of state services to legal entities and individuals, expand use of ICT and help to raise quality of adopted decision, decrease expenses, etc.

It is expected that the recommendations and proposals will be taking into account during the preparation of the draft law to the second reading in the Legislative Chamber.

It is worth to mention that the Legislative Chamber passed the draft law “On electronic government” in the first reading on 11 November.
