Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 June 2020, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Oybek Khamraev held talks with Director for Special Economic Zones of DP World (UAE) Muhammad Sulaiman Al Suwaydiy and Project Implementation Consultant of CBRE consulting company Harish Rajagopalan.

During the talks, the prospects for further development of cooperation in the framework of improving the management of special economic zones and transport and logistics infrastructure facilities were considered.

In particular, further joint actions for the development of the Navoi FEZ and the cargo terminal of the Navoi International Airport were discussed. The foreign side was familiarized in detail with the industrial potential of the special economic zone and the technological characteristics of the cargo terminal. A number of opportunities were noted to improve the efficiency of the SEZ and increase the throughput of the terminal through the use of innovative approaches and best practices of the company.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the presentation by DP World by the end of September this year of a comprehensive development strategy for the Navoi FEZ.
