Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with Caroline Falconer, Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).
The talks focused on cooperation in the fields of justice and law, as well as the expansion of alternative dispute resolution methods.
At the outset, participants were introduced to ongoing projects aimed at developing arbitration institutions in Uzbekistan and the latest trends in this field.
Particular attention was given to the new Law on International Commercial Arbitration, adopted in 2021, which introduced significant amendments aimed at improving the resolution of commercial disputes. This law seeks to enhance trust in arbitration processes and foster the development of arbitration institutions in the country.
Caroline Falconer highly praised Uzbekistan’s arbitration reforms and provided insights into the advantages of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. She also noted that the SCC's arbitration rules have been translated into Uzbek and are available on the institute’s official website.
