Disability pensions to be assigned proactively without citizen applications

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has signed a resolution titled “On the Introduction of Proactive Services in the Assignment of Disability Pensions and Compensation.”

The document introduces a simplified procedure for the assignment of state pensions and compensations, which will come into effect on 1 July 2025.

Under the new rules, disability pensions for individuals classified in Group I and Group II will be assigned proactively, without the need for a formal application by the citizen. At the same time, individuals will retain the right to refuse a pension assigned under this procedure.

Compensation payments will also be granted proactively to individuals with Group I visual impairments, as well as to citizens who served at nuclear test sites and other radiation-related facilities. These assignments will be based on electronic data exchange.

Additionally, for those who have worked for at least one year after being granted a disability pension, an automatic pension recalculation will be conducted every two years.

Beginning from 1 October 2025, a new procedure will be introduced for delivering state pension services and issuing cash pension payments via JSC “Khalq Bank.”

Specifically, biometric identification using Face ID technology and citizens’ electronic digital signatures will be employed to enhance the convenience and security of pension disbursements.

Disability pensions will thus be assigned in a proactive format, without requiring the citizen to initiate the process.
