Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Consulate General of Uzbekistan held a number of events in Shantou, one of the six special economic zones of China, Dunyo news agency reported.

As part of the program, meetings were organized with the Mayor of Shantou, Zen Fengbao, the leadership of the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, as well as with key figures in the field of investment and trade and representatives of the textile industry.

The Chinese side was presented with investment opportunities and economic potential of Uzbekistan. The discussion touched on the prospects for expanding cooperation thanks to friendly ties between the leaders of the two countries.

The meetings also touched on the topics of exchange of experience with the Shantou special economic zone and the establishment of interregional cooperation. The Chinese were informed about the tourist attractions of Uzbekistan and were invited to the Third Tashkent International Investment Forum and the interregional forum in Namangan.
