Digital Platform for Pediatric Oncology Launched in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has introduced a digital platform to accelerate the diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer, UNDP Uzbekistan said in a post on Telegram.

In Tashkent, over 50 specialists from 16 medical institutions across the country underwent a two-day training on the Global Platform for Pediatric Oncology Medicine Supply.

Participants not only studied the theoretical aspects but also tested the system in real clinical scenarios.

According to hematologist Tazahan Erzhanova from the Republican Multidisciplinary Children’s Medical Center of Karakalpakstan, the new platform will help speed up diagnosis and treatment, increase recovery chances, and improve patients’ quality of life.

The digital system creates a comprehensive ecosystem for monitoring and managing medications nationwide. It enables the generation of quarterly reports on drug consumption, treatment outcomes, and initiative progress, facilitating more effective management decisions.

The platform was developed by UZINFOCOM and the Ministry of Health, with technical support from the WHO. The training was organized by the Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Clinical Immunology in collaboration with UZINFOCOM and WHO Uzbekistan.

The program reflects the country’s commitment to the digital transformation of healthcare and strengthening national systems in line with global best practices.
