Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 6 November, Tashkent hosted an important plenary session of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as part of the 2024 European Economic Days, focusing on the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (also known as the Middle Corridor).

The event, organized by the European-Uzbek Association for Economic Cooperation (EUROUZ), gathered representatives from business and government circles.

Mamambiy Omarov, First Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, delivered a report highlighting the measures taken by the Ministry of Transport to improve the efficiency of the Trans-Caspian Corridor.

Omarov emphasized that strengthening transport infrastructure and connectivity plays a key role in the economic development of the region’s countries. According to him, enhancing the resilience and expanding the capacity of this transport route, transforming it into a multimodal corridor linking Europe and Asia, will be a significant step towards strengthening economic ties between these regions and ensuring the security and stability of transport routes.
