Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree "On Measures for Further Development and Popularization of the National Sport Kurash."
The document outlines an expansion of the activities of the International Kurash Institute, which is tasked with a number of additional responsibilities. These include the training of international-level coaches and referees, as well as the introduction of systems for their retraining and professional development.
The institute will also intensify its efforts on research projects focused on the technical and tactical aspects of the sport, as well as developing educational and scientific-practical materials.
Special attention will be given to the creation of new branches of kurash and their promotion, along with training specialists to work abroad. The institute will work systematically to promote kurash both nationally and internationally, with the goal of making it a globally recognized sport.
Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions abroad will assist the activities of the International Kurash Association and the International Kurash Institute by supporting initiatives to promote this national sport on the global stage.
Additionally, the decree calls for attracting major domestic companies as official sponsors of the International Kurash Association, strengthening the financial and organizational base for achieving the outlined objectives.
