Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 May 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev held a working meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Maria Angelieva.

Both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in intensifying political and consular dialogue and expressed readiness to engage in a systematic approach to addressing issues of shared concern.

During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the protection of labor rights, particularly those of Uzbek citizens, including measures to combat unscrupulous employers.

The Bulgarian side voiced its willingness to establish a permanent dialogue on labor migration issues and to explore the possibility of signing relevant agreements in the near future.

The officials also agreed on the need to convene the sixth session of the Uzbekistan–Bulgaria Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

In addition, extended meetings were held with Denitsa Sacheva, Chairwoman of the Bulgarian Parliament’s Labor Committee; Lyubomir Yosifov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs; and Tsanko Simeonov, President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The discussions focused on labor migration, cooperation in combating illegal migration, the creation of joint training centers, as well as the development of trade and economic ties, investment projects, and joint initiatives.

The meetings were held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and constructive dialogue. Both sides underscored the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation and expressed full readiness to implement the agreements reached.
