Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5-6 December 2023, in Baghdad, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Foreign Minister Bakhromjon Aloyev met with the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Iraq Khaled Battal Al-Najm, Deputy Chairman of the Investment Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers Salar Muhammad Amin and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Omir Zalaf Alavi.

During the negotiations, the sides discussed the issues of expanding trade and economic ties between the two countries, implementing joint investment projects, diversifying the export range, increasing supplies of agricultural, textile, leather, and electrical products of Uzbekistan to the Iraqi market.

The parties considered the prospects for expanding interaction between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries, as well as the creation of a Business Council.

During the meetings, the schedule of upcoming joint events was reviewed.
