Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was reviewed in its first reading.

This draft law was developed by a group of deputies under their legislative initiative rights.

During the discussion, it was noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has taken measures to systematize its legislation, increase the share of direct action laws, and enhance their impact on socio-political and economic reforms. Efforts are also being made to identify and eliminate corruption risks in legislative acts.

The draft law revises outdated provisions in laws such as "On Consumer Protection," "On Road Transport," "On Valuation Activities," "On Highways," "On Special Economic Zones," and "On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities." The project also outlines mechanisms for implementing specific provisions and removes unnecessary administrative procedures.

The adoption of this draft law is aimed at improving legislation and aligning it with current societal relations and legal norms.

The draft law was approved in its second reading.
