Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Only representative of Uzbekistan at US Open, Denis Istomin, will face Ecuador’s Nicolas Lapentti, who upset world No. 20 Stanislas Wawrinka.

The match between Lapentti and Wawrinka, No. 19 seeded player of the tournament, lasted four hours and forty-three minutes. Wawrinka won first two sets with the score 6/4 and 6/3.

Lapentti, world No. 163, defeated Swiss player in next three sets to move to next round - 7/6 (8/6), 7/6 (7/3) and 6/3.

As earlier reported, Denis Istomon outplayed US Brendan Evans, world No. 121, 6/4, 6/4, 7/6 (7/3) in straight sets. The match lasted 2 hours and 26 minutes.
