In the second round, Denis Istomin defeated the world no. 37 Marin Cilic of Croatia in straight sets – 6:3 and 6:4.

The match lasted an hour and 16 minutes. During the match Istomin recorded two break points and two aces.

Cilic could not convert two break points during the game. Marin Cilic served eight aces and registered a double fault.

Denis Istomin now will face Dmitry Tursunov of Russia in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
