Denis Istomin advances to second round in Washington

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin advanced to the second round of Citi Open in Washington (the United States) with the prize fund of US$1.3 million.

In the first round of the tournament Denis Istomin outplayed Santiago Giraldo of Columbia in straight sets 6/3 and 6/4.

The match lasted an hour and 10 minutes. During match Istomin recorded two break points and five aces. Santiago Giraldo served eight aces and committed four double faults.

In the second round, Denis Istomin will face Sam Querrey of the United States, who directly advanced to the second round.
