Demand for domestic and international road cargo transportation is growing in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the 3rd quarter, the demand for cargo transportation within Uzbekistan doubled, and the demand for transportation outside the country - 1.5 times (according to the international freight exchange ATI.SU). According to the instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country’s logistics are being digitized.

At a September meeting on accelerating reforms in the transport sector, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev set the task of digitalizing and improving the efficiency of the country’s logistics. The need to introduce digital technologies into the economy is also mentioned in the adopted strategy "Digital Uzbekistan - 2030".

According to the online service of the international freight exchange ATI.SU, the road freight transportation market of Uzbekistan is rapidly developing. In the third quarter of 2022, the exchange noted the following indicators compared to the same period last year:

- the number of applications for transportation within Uzbekistan increased by 2 times;

- the number of applications for transportation to export destinations increased by 145%;

- demand for transportation from Uzbekistan to Russia increased by 2.6 times. Also, an increase in the number of applications for the delivery of goods to Armenia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Mongolia and Kazakhstan was recorded;

- demand for transportation from other countries to Uzbekistan increased by 49% Most of all applications fall on the delivery of goods from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Poland, Germany, China and Turkey.

Uzbek companies are faced with the need to rebuild processes due to global factors. For example, the ban on trucks from Russia and Belarus from entering the EU forced customers to look for new partners to operate flights to Europe.

In October this year, carriers and shippers of Uzbekistan received direct access to the international freight exchange ATI.SU. This is the largest online platform in the CIS for placing orders for the delivery of goods. Against the backdrop of growing demand for road freight transportation from the Uzbek business, the company opened a representative office in Tashkent.
