Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The international company Deloitte has been appointed as the consultant for the Agency for State Asset Management in the privatization process of the state stake in JSC Uzbekinvest through public auctions in international markets.
According to the agency's data, seven proposals were received from local and international consulting companies during the selection process for a consultant. Their financial proposals, relevant work experience, and approaches to fulfilling the tasks were considered.
As a result of the selection, Deloitte was engaged as the consultant for the privatization of the state stake in the capital of the asset.
The consultant will conduct a market analysis of the service sector, investigate the prerequisites for the development of the industry in Uzbekistan and the region, and assess investor interest in this sector based on the conditions for maintaining the activity of the asset.
Deloitte will also perform a comprehensive due diligence analysis of the asset, covering tax, legal, financial, and environmental aspects.
Among the consultant's tasks are preparing recommendations for an optimal marketing strategy, creating marketing materials (teaser, information memorandum, procedural letter, and others), and distributing them among potential investors.
Deloitte will also take steps towards the privatization of the assets, including the creation of a virtual data room (VDR), preparing a draft sales agreement translated into Uzbek, and if necessary, into Russian and English, as well as supporting the sales process.
It is worth noting that the authorities of Uzbekistan plan to sell 79.4% of shares in the insurance company Uzbekinvest.
