Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the State Property Committee of Uzbekistan visited Berlin, Germany, on 23-26 November. The delegation visited Germany on invitation of German Federal Finance Ministry at the support of German Technical Cooperation Society (GTZ).

The main direction of all meetings and presentations, held within the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Germany, became exchange of opinions and study experience of enterprise privatization, management of the state real estate and shares in enterprises in Germany for their implementation in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek delegation visited German Federal Finance Ministry and got acquainted with privatization processes and management of the state assets in Germany. The delegation also visited Federal Economy and Technology Ministry, Eastern Committee of Germany Economy, Berlin Bureau of cooperation with Eastern and Central Europe of the United Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Germany.

During these meetings, the sides held negotiations on mutual beneficial cooperation in attraction of resources of the German investors to privatization of large enterprises in Uzbekistan.

The State Property Committee of Uzbekistan and Federal Finance Ministry of Germany inked memorandum of cooperation in privatization and management of the state property, including within the Cooperation Programme for 2010-2011, which is under development now.

The document envisages preliminary areas of cooperation, which include:

• implementation of new law of Uzbekistan on privatization;
• studying German and international experience in privatization, including
• post-privatization support of enterprises;
• management of the state assets, economic valuation of privatized enterprises, management and realization of the state properties.

Within the cooperation, it is also envisaged to direct German and foreign specialists to Uzbekistan to hold working visits, conferences, study tours to Uzbekistan and Germany, develop recommendations and proposals.
