During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation in the field of tourism. It is noted that for today the Chinese market of outbound tourism is the largest in the world, and in terms of average expenditure for one trip, tourists from China occupy a leading position in the world.
Li Jinzao underlined importance of developing relations in the field of tourism within the framework of the Chinese initiative “One Belt, One Way”. In this context, it is noted that tourism contributes not only to deepening cultural and humanitarian ties, but also plays an important role in the economic development of our countries.
In this regard, the sides noted that completion of construction of highway and commissioning of direct rail service between the two countries, and the opening of direct flights between the major cities of Uzbekistan and China will positively affect the process of sending Chinese tourists to Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on specific joint measures to further develop Uzbek-Chinese relations in the field of tourism, and the head of the tourism department of the People’s Republic of China was given an invitation to visit Uzbekistan to get acquainted with the tourism opportunities and potential of the country.
