During the visit, the delegation held meetings and the sides discussed actual issues of cooperation between the universities, including within the EU’s TEMPUS programme.

Tashkent State Oriental Studies Institute has been cooperating with Cambridge Central Asia Forum within the project of the British Council “International partnership in education sector INSPIRE”.

The partnership envisages joint implementation of project “Past and current Great Silk Road”, and includes historic, geopolitical and geoeconomic aspects of the Great Silk Road.

During past several years, delegations of Tashkent State Oriental Studies Institute and Cambridge University organized visits to Great Britain and Uzbekistan to exchange experience and familiarize with education process. The sides reached agreement to organize teaching of Uzbek language at Cambridge University.

At current visit, the sides agreed to organize of international conference dedicated to creation, development and current state of Great Silk Road in Uzbekistan in 2013.

During the visit, the Uzbek delegation also visited lections and seminars at Cambridge University to familiarize with methods of teaching, organization of lectures and seminars, etc.
