Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 19 to 20 April 2023, a delegation of MEDEF International, consisting of 35 French companies, visited Tashkent to participate in a multi-sectoral mission led by Mr. Nicolas Mas, President-CEO of the company "Orano Mining", and with the support of the economic department of the French Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The mission allowed French companies in the transport, energy, agriculture, industry and textile sectors, already present in the country or wishing to explore the Uzbek market, to establish partnerships and evaluate new opportunities offered by the extensive reform program being pursued by the Government of Uzbekistan.

After several high-level meetings, in particular with Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, and sectoral meetings (transport, water resources, construction, agriculture, environment, etc.), members of the delegation and Uzbek leaders outlined priority cooperation projects for the next year. There was also a meeting with the khokim of Tashkent, Mr. Shavkat Umurzakov, dedicated to the contribution of French companies to the development of the Uzbek capital.

Finally, thanks to several meetings with representatives of the French Development Agency, local and international financial institutions, the French participants were able to get acquainted with Uzbekistan’s strategy for financing projects and attracting foreign investment.

The reception, hosted by the Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan, Ms. Aurelia Bouchez, concluded the visit and marked the activity of Franco-Uzbek economic relations.
