Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An international forum focused on the protection of children’s rights and interests concluded in Uzbekistan. The initiative for the event was led by Tashkent, and over two days, experts and representatives from various countries discussed the most pressing challenges in this field.

Key discussions centered on measures to prevent all forms of violence against children, ensure their rights within the justice system, protect them from harmful information and threats, and establish effective, child-friendly mechanisms for legal and social support. Participants exchanged experiences from Central Asian countries, as well as Croatia, Finland, Norway, and the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children, highlighting the importance of knowledge sharing and strengthening international cooperation.

The forum resulted in the creation of a unified regional platform for children’s ombudsmen in Central Asia. This platform will serve as a hub for coordinating actions and finding solutions to common issues in child protection.

It was emphasized that Central Asia is a region with shared historical and cultural heritage and close ties among its peoples, while each state retains its uniqueness and independence. The new structure is expected to consolidate the efforts of countries to address regional challenges in child protection.

The forum concluded with the signing of a final document — a Declaration aimed at strengthening the capacity of children’s ombudsman institutions across the region.
