Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Days of Uzbek cinema in Russia will be held in Moscow and Kazan from 1 to 5 October. The event is organized by the Uzbekkino National Agency, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow.

A bright, unforgettable event is expected, a real holiday for people who love, know Uzbek (Eastern) culture, history. This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the latest Uzbek cinema, various genre films of famous directors of Uzbekistan, as well as remember the films that were loved by the audience that were shot earlier. Among the films that will be shown within the framework of the Days of Uzbek Cinema is the film “Hot Tortilla” directed by Umid Khamdamov, who received the main prize of the 28th Russian festival “Kinoshok” in Anapa.

The purpose of the Days of Cinema is to popularize Uzbek cinematographic art in Russia, strengthen cultural ties between countries, historically close peoples and strengthen friendly relations between countries.

On 1 October, the opening ceremony of the Days of Uzbek Cinema in Russia will be held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, where leaders of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and prominent filmmakers are invited.

“During the movie days, we will sign a series of memorandums between Uzbekkino and the largest Russian film companies on the creation of joint film projects, including negotiations to return Uzbek films created in different years and stored at the State Film Fund of Russia,” Firdavs Abdukhalikov, director general of the Uzbekkino national agency, who heads the Uzbek delegation, said.

“Understanding the importance of the formation of future motion pictures for our country, the Uzbek delegation included a group of gifted youth, for which we will not only organize visits to the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, Mosfilm, but also conduct master classes and trainings with the participation of prominent masters of cinema,” emphasized the head of "Uzbekkino".

Days of Uzbek cinema in Russia are held as part of the implementation of measures to strengthen friendship and cooperation in many areas of the economy and the adopted program of economic cooperation for 2019-2024 based on the meeting of the leaders of two states: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in October 2018 .

In this regard, the Week of Uzbek Films in Russia is designed to give an opportunity to both Russian viewers and representatives of the Uzbek diaspora living in Russia to see the new Uzbek cinema on the big screen, chat with the creators of the paintings, get acquainted with the trends of Uzbek cinema. The program will include the best professional feature and documentary films of recent years.
