Days of Argentine Cinema takes place in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent’s Art Palace named after Alisher Navoi hosted Days of Argentine Cinema. During three days, the festival demonstrated Argentine films of various genres were presented.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, charge d'affaires of Argentina Jose Maria Venere expressed his gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for assistance in organization of the festival. He added that such events will help rapprochement of two nations and allows to familiarize each other.

In his interview to Jahon, he said that the films, which were presented during festival, were highly rated in Argentine and Latin America.

Venere said: “We presented Argentine films for the first time in Central Asia. We selected Uzbekistan to demonstrate our film to make first step to expand our relations. I did not have chance to watch Uzbek films, but I will do after today’s event.”

He also spoke about meetings during his visit to Uzbekistan. He said that initiatives of Argentina were supported in Uzbekistan. The diplomat said the visit will allow to new level of cooperation. He said that next step of cooperation will be trade-economic sector, including in agriculture technologies. He added that Argentina is ready to share its share in this sector. “We are also open for experience and ideas of Uzbekistan,” he added.
