Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Day of Uzbekistan was widely celebrated at the airport of St. Petersburg. The event was organized by the Representative Office of the Uzbekiston Havo Yollari together with the Pulkovo Airport with the assistance of the General Agent of the Uzbek airline for St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, the Aerotour Company, in order to promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and the services of the national air carrier, and to attract a tourist flow to our country.

Part of the departure zone on the third floor was decorated with advertising posters of the Uzbek airline. Guests were asked to be photographed against the backdrop of a bright press-box with the image of the Registan complex in Samarkand.

Invited guests, partners and ordinary passengers departing from Pulkovo, tasted national treats, fruits and could appreciate the magnificent Uzbek samsa.

The event was opened by the representative of the airport Anna Nikiforova. Thanking Uzbekistan Airways for long-term cooperation, she noted the airline as an important strategic partner.

Representative of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari in St. Petersburg Zafar Saidazimov stated that the St. Petersburg airport supporting the airplane. He also briefed about further plans for cooperation and invited everyone to visit Uzbekistan in the framework of actively developing tourism.

After the end of the official part of the ceremony, the national dance group "Bahor" performed the Uzbek national dances. Pulkovo Airport also hosted an exhibition of ethnic fashion, presented by the "Fashion House of Lola Zhalolova".

For three hours, the event attracted the attention of thousands of people. Visitors of the holiday were interested in information about a variety of tourist programs, historical sights and having got acquainted with a friendly, hospitable Uzbek people, have become thoughtful about a trip to our sunny country.
