Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 October, the “Day of Culture of the People’s Republic of China in Uzbekistan” was held in Tashkent.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.

Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and China is developing in the humanitarian sphere. He emphasized that creative groups from Uzbekistan regularly visit China, and Chinese artists come to Uzbekistan.

“In the future, we will strive to expand exchanges among industry employees. We are confident that cultural ties will serve as an important bridge in strengthening friendship between Uzbekistan and China,” the minister said.

He noted that in 2024, Uzbekistan plans to hold the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Beijing and other major cities of China.

Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yu Jun, in turn, said that Uzbekistan and China have an ancient history and deep cultural heritage. “We are glad to see that cultural exchanges between the two sides are becoming more frequent, and mutual understanding and friendship between peoples continue to strengthen,” the diplomat added.

Yu Jun noted that artists from China and Uzbekistan jointly participated in the preparation of the “Culture Day of the People’s Republic of China in Uzbekistan.” According to him, this is the first large-scale event held in Uzbekistan after the pandemic that demonstrates Chinese culture. “It conveys the deep friendship and goodwill of the Chinese people to the people of Uzbekistan,” the ambassador said.

Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China Hu Heping noted that China and Uzbekistan are countries of ancient civilization with a long history and brilliant culture. The Great Silk Road can testify to the friendly relations between the two countries for more than 2000 years.

“China and Uzbekistan, adhering to the principles of mutual borrowing, exchange of experience, mutual benefit, mutual benefit and mutual support, have established close and mutually beneficial friendly and fraternal ties. There are frequent and close exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture and tourism,” the minister noted.

As part of the “Day of Culture of the People’s Republic of China in Uzbekistan,” artists from China and Uzbekistan presented dances and songs. In particular, the artists showed the public the Chinese dance “Jasmine”, instrumental music “Sun and Moon”, folk melody “Horses”, national dance “Book of Heaven”, etc. Chinese artists also performed the songs “Majnuntol” and “Namanganning Olmasi” in Uzbek language.
