Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan national tennis team defeated opponents from Japan as part of the Davis Cup World Group I match in Tashkent.

Denis Istomin lost to Sho Shimabukoro with a score of 6:3, 6:7(5) and 6:7(9), and Sergey Fomin defeated Shintaro Mochizuki with a score of 7:6(3) and 7:6(2).

Sanjar Fayziev and Denis Istomin defeated Kaito Uesugi and Yosuke Watanuki in a doubles match with a score of 3:6, 7:6(2) and 6:2.

Sergey Fomin defeated Sho Shimabukoro with a score of 7:6(1) and 7:5 and ensured the victory of Uzbekistan national team.

In the playoffs of the tournament, Uzbekistan national team will play against Turkey in March 2023. The tie will be held in Tashkent.
