Danfoss gets closer to its customers in Central Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- After announcing its withdrawal from Russia and Belarus earlier this year, Danfoss, a leading global technology provider, has shifted all of its operations in Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Armenia) to Kazakhstan.

These countries are now organizationally part of the Danfoss Turkey, Middle East and Africa (TMA) region as an independent Central Asia Unit (CAU). This is a strategic move for the company as the sales, customer support and technical teams are now located in Kazakhstan. This strategy will allow the multinational Danish company to help its clients more efficiently and in a shorter time frame.

“At Danfoss, we listen to our customers and work tirelessly to help them improve energy efficiency in their business and contribute to decarbonization. Our technical team in Kazakhstan will ensure smooth operation and high reliability for all our customers in the field of drives, climate solutions, high pressure pumps and sensor solutions,” said Ziyad Al Bawaliz, Regional President of TMA.a

Engineering future of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan has a Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) with the explicit goal of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 15% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels, according to a recent IEA conference in which Danfoss was an active participant. The household sector is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions and accounted for 8% of total national CO2 emissions in 2018 (UNFCCC, 2020).

There are only a few suppliers of heat pumps and solar water heaters in Kazakhstan, and knowledge and awareness of alternative thermal technologies is very weak. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) roadmap document, to remove this barrier, measures should be taken to support manufacturers and suppliers of clean heating technologies, along with efforts to provide clear and accessible information to consumers.

In addition, the energy efficiency potential of buildings in Kazakhstan is very high, as a significant amount of heat is lost through walls, windows and heating systems. A deteriorating housing stock, inefficient district heating systems and overheating all contribute to high energy consumption in the residential sector.

“There are many ways to improve energy efficiency across industries in Kazakhstan, and we aim to be the leading technology partner for consumers in Central Asia. Danfoss is a pioneer in developing solutions for customers that enable smart and cost-effective decarbonization and ensure customers are carbon neutral in their daily operations, and we we want to contribute to the achievement of decarbonization goals in Kazakhstan,” Zayed emphasized
