Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkish company DAL Teknik Makina Ticaret ve Sanayi A. Ş. commissioned a plant for production of metal structures for a wide range of use in Akhangaran (Tashkent region).
An opening ceremony of new plant was held in the industrial zone of Akhangaran city. The project worth US$10.7 million was implemented in the free economic zone Angren.
The plant was built at the expense of Turkey’s investment. The enterprise is equipped with modern and environmentally friendly equipment, and is the most modern plant in Central Asia.
The capacity of new plant in the first stage will be 12,000 tonnes of metal structures a year. In the second stage of the project, the production capacity will grow to 24,000 tonnes of products a year and in the third stage – 30,000 tonnes.
The creation of Akhangaran plant for metal structures will fully cover domestic demand for metal structures in Uzbekistan and will save US$20 million in foreign currency a year. The company intends to export part of its products to the countries of Central Asia.
DAL Teknik Makina Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. has been engaged in design, manufacture, modernization, technical audit, service, sale and installation of new equipment and plants on “turnkey” basis in such sectors as cement, lime, energy, minerals and coal production since 1985.
In Uzbekistan, the company has been operating since 2012 and for five years has implemented investment projects for construction and expansion of a cement plant in Jizzakh region for a total of US$133.4 million, and construction of a cement plant in Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region for a total of US$203.1 million.
As a foreign investor, the company has already implemented several projects with direct private foreign investments worth over US$3 million in Jizzakh region. In particular, the company purchased a cement plant with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year located in Jizzakh region and also bought out shares in Zomin Sement Invest Karyer. The main activity of the company is extraction of limestone. New investment projects (4 projects) are being developed for US$12.6 million in Jizzakh region.
