Current account balance surplus of Uzbekistan reaches US$2.5bn

Current account balance surplus of Uzbekistan exceeded US$2.5 billion in the first half of 2010, the Ministry of Economy and State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in their joint report.
The report said that the volume of exports and services rose by 14.3% year-on-year in January-June 2010.
According to the Statistics Committee, current account balance surplus of Uzbekistan was US$1.571 billion. Export rose by 2.8% to US$6.034 billion in the first half of 2009.
